C.E.F was walking in partnership with ZOA/HOLLANDE to give access to heathy food in the sector of Tanganyika. The project was all about supplying cowpeas and groundnuts seeds. As result, we were able to supply 14800kg of cowpeas and 37500 kg of groundnuts.

By the time Burundian refugees were taken to Lusenda refugee settlement and under the supervision of AIRD, we were alled to reforest the camp and distribute firewoods to the refugees. While reforesting the camp, we concentrated on fruit trees.

As result, C.E.F was able to reforest twenty hectares of land by planting 7420 fruit seedlings and 18 305 fast-growing seedlings.

In 2019 or exacty one year after having worked with AIRD (The organization in charge of Lusenda refugee settlement), the United Nation High Commission for Refugee UNHCR contacted us and proposed us to extend our intervention in the camp. We were able to plant fruit trees like tangerine tree, we also planted tomatoes.

As result we planted 20,000 tangerine trees, sowing and follow-up of 160kgs of beans and 750gr of tomatoes.

We took two years accompanying burundia refugees in their way to have balanced diets. We were accompanied by ADRA through the supervision of UNHCR.

As result, we supplied different vegetable seeds such as Amaranth, onions, tomatoes, eggplant, carrots and cabbage plus  hoes, scissors, rope, watering cans and wicks.

Vegetables and greens supply

We worked with TPO to protect and demobilize the children affected by armed conflicts. The project was divided into two phases.

PHASE 1: Child Protection, Demobilization, Disarmament and Reintegration (DDR) programs. 

PHASE 2: To accompany and implement daily monitoring of DDR, CFS and RECOPE/FAT activities.

As result, 4612 accompanied children in PHASE 1 and 2576 in the second PHASE.

Child protection & Demobilization

C.E.F worked with CARITAS to supply healthy mosaic and brown streak cuttings of cassava in Fizi Territory.  This was part of “Food security” project in the sector of Tanganyika. As result, C.E.F was able to supply 4000 cuttings of cassava which were very resistant to diseases.
